SWEDISH CHAMPION 2024, IN THE CATEGORY WEDDING OPEN

It is now clear that photographer Evelyn Wallin in Solna has won gold and the title “Swedish champion in the category Wedding – open” in SM in photography.

The picture has the title “I can see us later today, as husband and wife” and is one of a total of 1,889 pictures submitted this year from 363 photographers throughout Sweden.

During the final event for SM in photography, Swedish champions in 18 different categories have been crowned and Evelyn Wallin is one of them. Among the winners, a national team will be selected to represent Sweden in the World Photographic Cup.

The championship, which takes place once a year, consists of two parts. First, a digital qualifying competition where a total of 20 judges have scored all 1,889 images submitted.

The pictures that received the highest points in their category have been selected for the print final. Before the final, each photographer had to validate their images, which means that they had to send in their raw files to ensure that they were the sole author of their image. Since the final is a print competition, each photographer has also had to make sure to print their picture according to the competition rules. The final consists of two days of judging, where 11 judges from both Sweden and other parts of the world went through the final pictures to select the Swedish champions and Picture of the Year. Silver and bronze medalists have also been crowned in each category.

The images are judged based on their impact, creativity, basic image, post-processing, story, lighting, posing, composition and category.

The print quality is also assessed, i.e. how well the photographer, with the help of the right choice of paper and craftsmanship, managed to bring out the right feeling in his image.

The pictures can get 0 to 100 points, where 100 should be next to impossible to recive.
