An alternative to big weddings

elopement, Inspiration

So you have realised you’re not the big wedding type of couple.. Great let’s connect! There is an alternative to big weddings.

Congratulations! I SO get it! You want an intimate day to get married where the focus is on you and your love. Don’t get me wrong, big and grand weddings can be THE dream of many couples, and some of you might have dreamed of that scenario since you were kids. For you, this post is less relevant.

You who, on the other hand, do not dream of a 100+ wedding at all. This post is for you.

There are a huge number of options, I would say, as many as there are couples planning for their big day.

Here are a few questions I have received about the alternative to big weddings

  • How to we find an officiant to hold the ceremony out in the wilderness or on a mountain? It sounds too difficult.

It’s not as difficult as it may seem. I have this included in my packages to help you  find a suitable one. If we do not find one, you can do the ceremony part at the cityhall and then elope. You could during your elopement read your vows to each other at the location we have chosen.

  • We love to hike, how do we solve the issue of the dress? It feels difficult to elope with a real wedding dress.

Oh not at all! You have options. Either you change before and hike in your wedding clothes, you can roll up the skirt part of the dress in different ways depending on the fabric and put a bag around it. Or, you change outdoors with your backs against each other and then get a fantastic First Look when you both turn around. Both ways are amazing.

  • How do we know which time is best for the place we want to travel to?

If you mean which season, this is another great topic to ask at the beginning when you do the brainstorming. If you mean time of day, then this is something that I can help you with. Depending of the location, I take care of the hours and location which is best depending on time of day. Unfortunately the weather is out of my hands (I wish it wasn’t).

  • So the paperwork and legal stuff when getting married in another country, how do we even begin?

Again, I will help and guide you through the details before your day, which papers need to be sent in and how far ahead. But also which laws apply in your chosen country. You can relax. ?
